The Real Life Foundation is a Christian, non-political, non-profitable organization, which focuses on the youth
and the issues that affect them either positively or negatively. We
intend to empower them, to make a difference in their own lives and
because of that, to have a lasting impact on the society. The
organization was established in 2005 upon the inspiration of the
founder’s real life experience.
Youth Agenda
The societal context has changed rapidly over the past decades.
Progress made in science and technology has opened up worlds that never
have been explored by young people before. Knowledge of modern
information and communication technology puts a great deal of power in
the hands of the youth. It also gives the youth a lot of freedom. The
changes that have occurred, affect the image or even the identity of
the youth.
These changes, and many more that are perhaps yet to take place, are
positive but only if we are well equipped to handle them. This is not
to say that existing educational systems are not competent, but rather
a proposition that they may be inadequate.
It is very difficult for a young person to stand in a world where
HIV/Aids, drug abuse, abortion and sexual abuse are a prominent reality
and where an anti–establishment mentality feeds the idea
that it is normal to be disrespectful to parents, government authority
and God.
We as the Real Life Foundation see these problems. We see that the
young generation of Kenya needs direction. It needs to be guided. In
interaction with the youth we want to find a way to deal with the many
challenges produced by this modern society. In our view, a real life
needs to be rooted in a reality that goes deeper than only what is
visible. We offer guidance in order to make the youth able to face
today’s challenges.
